Resources and Capacity Building

Aside from ongoing digital inclusion projects, DII manages various services providing important information to anyone with an interest in the community and not-for-profit sector. DII also  has a heavy involvement in the maintenance of several public computer hubs.

ICT Hubs

Infoxchange's information and communication technology (ICT) hubs have been set up in areas of Melbourne with low rates of computer ownership and internet access. The hubs are free to use for local residents and are available on weekdays for resume writing, job searching, web browsing, checking and sending emails, printing and scanning. The hubs also host regular education classes and activities to encourage community participation.

There are currently eight ICT hubs open in Melbourne, located at:

  • Shop 9A, Olsen Place, Broadmeadows
  • Wired Community@Collingwood Office, 253 Hoddle Street, Collingwood
  • Atherton Gardens Learning Hub, 90 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy
  • Western Region Health Centre, 107 to 137 Churchill Avenue, Footscray
  • IT Hub, Alamein Road, Heidelberg West
  • Braybrook and Maidstone Public Tenants Association, 113 Melon Street, Maidstone
  • 2/44 Whitelaw Street, Reservoir East
  • Heathdale House, 150 Rosella Avenue, Werribee

Jobseeker

Community and not-for-profit organisations are often stretched to their limit providing essential services to disadvantaged individuals and families.

Their need for quality staff is arguably higher than any multi-national company, due to the importance and urgency of their work.

Infoxchange can assist in that pursuit of qualified and experienced staff through Jobseeker, an employment website dedicated to solely community, not-for-profit, government and social services positions. Revenue generated through Jobseeker is invested in DII's various digital inclusion activities.

With approximately 500 jobs advertised on Jobseeker each month, there are positions for everyone, from administration and management, to hands-on client work in alcohol & other drugs, disability, mental health and other areas, to policy, research and community legal work.

Our jobs are viewed by 40,000 unique website visitors every month; people who are specifically searching for work in the sector, so organisations are far likelier to find the right candidate.

For anyone seeking involvement in the not-for-profit and community services sector, Jobseeker is sure to have something of interest.
